We are experiencing a high volume of referrals right now which has impacted our availability of some services. Out of respect for your time, we have removed the option to book an intake call for services that have been temporarily suspended. As the status of service availability changes we will update our online booking options. We welcome you to view our list of closed services to keep apprised of our current service availability.

Intake phone call lengths can vary, so we ask that you’re available to receive a telephone call 5-minutes BEFORE and AFTER your scheduled call time. Our intake worker will make several attempts to contact you before moving to another booking. If your intake interview is missed you may schedule another booking through our online booking system.

Please note: This intake appointment is by telephone and you are NOT required to come to our office.

Our process of scheduling you with a therapist is done by booking a complimentary 20 minute intake telephone call with our Intake professional. This call, which is entirely confidential, is an opportunity to collect pertinent information to create your file and to match you with an appropriate therapist for your specific needs. Intake will also answer any of your questions or concerns, and place you on the therapist’s wait list. You will also be notified of his or her wait time (if applicable), as best we can predict.

I am is currently pursuing my MA in International Development Studies at Dalhousie University. I graduated with a Combined Honours BA in Psychology and International Development Studies. This provided me with a unique lens of seeing the personal being in continuous conversation with the political.

As a first generation Canadian I am passionate about the Eelam-Tamil community that I hail from. My research explores issues of identity, liberation culture, intergenerational and community trauma concerning Eelam-Tamil women. I look forward to providing you with a safe space and assisting you with getting started on your wellness journey.

Megan Rowe

Intake Worker | She/Her/Hers

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Queen’s University and am currently completing a Master of Social Work degree at Dalhousie University.

I have extensive research and clinical experience in the field of suicide science. My research focuses on assessing how past experiences of suicidal thoughts and behaviours influence attention to suicide-relevant images, and whether patterns of gaze toward these images predict future suicide risk.

Presently, my research has shifted to exploring the development, implementation, and efficacy of different crisis response models. I hope to produce knowledge that can be used to improve current crisis intervention strategies to better support folx experiencing a mental health crisis.

In addition, I have experience working in community mental health settings in both Kingston, ON and Halifax, NS. Upon graduating from my MSW, I wish to pursue a career as a Clinical Social Worker.
